The Travelodge Phillip Street is located right in the midst of Sydney’s CBD making it a great location for sight seeing. We were able to walk just about everywhere we wanted to go from the hotel. We walked to the Aquarium, Circular Quay for the Zoo ferry, Hyde Park, The Museum and Westfield Shopping Centre.
The hotel is clean and quiet. I am a very light sleeper and I didn’t find this hotel at all noisy. Rooms are neat, adequate and come with a small fridge and microwave. There is a couch and a small dining table in the room. Hotel televisions don’t feature a kids channel (not even the local free kids channel) which can make for stroppy children at the end of a long day. You can pay per view movies but they are $15 per film.
The hotel lobby is home to a restaurant with lovely kid friendly staff who are chatty with little ones and happy to help with any menu requests for the kids.
Room service isn’t offered by the hotel however, you can order meals to your room through an external company that delivers within an hour (our meals took an hour and a forty minutes!) On weekends when the CBD cafes and restaurants are closed it is a little more challenging to find dining options that are open and suit all palettes, we ended up walking to George street for food on a Sunday night.
Travelodge Phillip Street is a budget friendly, quiet and clean hotel in a fabulous location for exploring what beautiful Sydney has to offer. This hotel is one to consider for your trip.
