Sea World is a wonderful day out for kids. Sea World has achieved a great balance in providing something to appeal to all age groups. There are rides aimed at all ages, the littlies are covered but there are still a couple for the thrill seeker older kids and the animal shows and exhibits are suitable for everyone.

We enjoyed seeing Australia’s only Polar Bears. Their exhibit is lovely with both under and above water viewing areas. There are animal shows throughout the day such as the amazing Dolphin show where handlers Stand Up Paddle Board and swim with the dolphins while they show off their tricks.

The SpongeBob 3D show was a hit with The Wandering Child but his absolute favourite was the Jet Stunt Extreme show. He has now decided his future career will involve death defying stunts on a jet ski…ummm thanks Sea World.

The park is educational for kids. Learn about Sharks, Sting Rays, Penguins and about Anemones and Star Fish in the touch pools. The Deep Sea creatures exhibit is fascinating. How does your weight compare to a humpback whale?

You can ride the monorail or the cable car to get from one side of the park to the other to give little legs a rest.

During our visit some of the rides aimed at younger visitors were closed to make way for the new Nickelodeon Land but we really didn’t miss them and had more than enough to do without the rides.

Throughout the day kids can meet Dora, Diego, Boots, SpongeBob Squarepants and a personal favourite is meeting the Ninja Turtles who turn up in their awesome van. (Queue for this meet and greet a few minutes early as the line can get lengthy.)

Sea World is a well rounded theme park appealing to all ages. Adults will enjoy the shows and entertainment and kids will love the rides and character meets.

If you are in the market for a hotel for your Sea World visit, read our review of the Sea World Hotel next door.

We will be back for more and to check out the new Nickelodeon area soon.
