We recently checked in to the Regal Palms resort for a couple of nights and I have to say I was impressed. It’s rare to find a hotel where family guests needs have been so thoroughly catered to.

The hotel is located on what becomes Rotorua’s main street and is within a couple of kilometres of the city’s centre. The hotel offers a range of accommodation options to cater to different groups and needs. Regal Palms Resort offers rooms from studio up to 2 bedroom apartments.

We stayed in a one bedroom suite.

One bedroom suites have a seperate bedroom plus a lounge (with a couch that can be made up for bedding) plus a dining area and a kitchenette. If you choose to cook for yourself there is a supermarket approximately 1km up Fenton Street. (We were able to walk there and back). The hotel also provides a bunch of menus for local restaurants you can order from.

The Bedroom was very comfortable, great block out curtains let us snooze late in the morning. The bed was super comfy and the hotel is really quiet. I’m a very light sleeper and wasnt disturbed by any external noise. Our room had a small courtyard off the bedroom with an outdoor table and chairs. All rooms offer a balcony or courtyard.

This place is a kid paradise. There is a mini golf course in the middle of the resort, you can borrow balls, clubs and score cards from reception. There is no cost to play.

Thanks to Regal Palms Resort Rotorua for having us. As always all opinions are my own.Regal Palms Resort Rotorua, Single Parent Travel New Zealand, New Zealand with kids

Mini Golf was a favourite for my little guy. I loved the fact that the pool was heated!!
Enjoy your trip Wendy. I’d love to hear what you think afterwards.
