We stayed in two different rooms, both the standard “Dorsett Room’ and the “Dorsett Suite.” The rooms are refurbished and really good size. The Dorsett room has a small seating area and a desk area while the Dorsett Suite has a separate living room with a couch and a second television.

Staff were all lovely and breakfast was great. There was a huge range offering all the favourites and an abundance of yum pastries as well as cereals, fruits, eggs, sushi and more.

Family rooms are available and if the other rooms are anything to go by then I’m sure the sizing is adequate for a whole family.

One downfall of this hotel is there is no kids TV channel so if you are looking for an hour of downtime in the hot afternoons you will need to provide your own entertainment.

There is an icy cold pool on the fourth floor (and I mean ICY!) and a small shallow pool for young swimmers.

There is a lot of construction going on around the hotel but we didn’t notice any noise from this and rooms were fairly quiet.

The location makes this a good choice for KL, especially for shoppers.¬† Monorail is around 5 minutes walk away in the vibrant Bukit Bintang shopping area, from there you can access all that KL has to offer. We didn’t see any other children during our visit and while not primarily a family hotel don’t discount the Dorsett as an option for your family if the price is right.
