The show is lively and entertaining throughout with acrobatics, dance, aerial silk routines, fire dancing and even water effects and lasts approximately 90 minutes.
Is the show suitable for kids? absolutely! Kids will love the fire twirling and the acrobatic numbers as well as a group of cheeky monkey acrobat characters that really appeal to the kids. My son thought it was HILARIOUS when a naughty monkey pulls down a farmers shorts and steals his gun.
There is nothing scary that will spook kids in the show although very very young children may not be comfortable in the dark theatre or with the loud musical soundtrack. My son gets easily spooked in movies and TV but he was perfectly fine with every part of the Devdan show.
The show is around and hour and a half long and he remained engaged and entertained throughout the whole 90 minutes. He especially loved the East meets West number, the aerial acrobatics and the photos with cast members afterward (exit the theatre and turn right to the Devdan sign immediately after the show.)
We were in A category seating which was ideal. (There is also VIP seating available in recliner chairs which come with blankets and bottled water for those that would like an extra comfy experience). Our seats were great, we had unobstructed views of the stage and we were directly behind the reclining chairs which is a great space for kids as they will have no problem seeing over the top of the reclined seats.
VIP, A and B Categories of seating also include transport to the Nusa Dua theatre. Taxis were easy to find straight after the show finished.
There are several restaurants in the vicinity, we ate at Mai Mai; the food was lovely and the staff were very accommodating with fussy child menu requests.
Devdan is a lovely family night out and a perfect way to introduce the highlights of Indonesian culture to your kids and be entertained by a vibrant, colourful spectacle in the process.
The Wandering child says this is his favourite show in Bali. We both really enjoyed the experience and would visit again.
Tip: bring a long sleeve top as the air-con can get chilly.
Our thanks to Devdan for hosting our visit. As always, all opinions are my own.
