The Aquaduck is a quick, fun, any weather tour of Queensland’s Gold Coast on an amphibious bus.
We hadn’t planned to take this tour but The Wandering Kid spotted ‘The Duck’ while we were walking Surfers Paradise’s Cavill Avenue and was very excited. 20 minutes later we were boarding the Aquaduck.Tickets for this 1 hour tour cost $35 for adults $26 for kids and a family ticket is $95.The tour heads by road toward Southport before taking the plunge into the water. ‘The Duck’ chats and quacks throughout the commentary which my son found cute.  The trip along the river takes in some of the Gold Coast’s most expensive property, a view of Sea World and one of the sets for the upcoming Pirates of the Caribbean movie. The absolute highlight of the Aquaduck is that children get to drive and earn their Aquaduck license. My son proudly displays his ‘license’ on his bedroom wall at home.

The day of our tour was raining and although it obscured the view on the water somewhat the Aquaduck tour is still an option for wet weather days.

This is a novel way to get a brief view of the Gold Coast if you are new to the area and the kids will love having a chance to drive.
