The Angsana Laguna is amazing.

Now I know that is quite an opening statement but it’s warranted, what makes the Angsana so amazing? Namchok (Lucky) the baby elephant. He is adorable and visits the kids club on his way to the beach everyday. It didn’t matter what the rooms were like or if meals were edible Namchok made my son’s stay at the Angsana. Fortunately the elephant was not the only positive at the resort.

Angsana has a great kids club with large playground a kids café and a range of indoor and outdoor activities daily.

The rooms were spacious and spotless all of the staff we encountered were lovely and made an extra effort to make an impression on my son. Bang at reception was his best friend during his stay, he visited her daily and she was never too busy to greet him or get him a glass of purple lotus juice. My son loved the turn down service every night and the small gift that was left in the room daily, his favourite is a tuk tuk made from a coke can.

The breakfast spread was delicious with a large range of fresh pastries, pancakes, fruit salad, yoghurts, bacon, eggs, and most importantly decent coffee.

The pools are great with a number of options available, there is a swim up bar and a pool with a sandy beach area. The grounds of the Angsana are gorgeous and so peaceful, the Laguna complex is away from the hustle and bustle, nights are very quiet. If you are after nightlife Angsana is not the place for you but it is perfect for major relaxation and the kids will love it.

The hotel is right on the beach which is quiet and not crowded, there are a number of restaurants along the beachfront and The Black Cat café located in nearby Cherngtalay Village has good meals at reasonable prices and a menu with a large enough range of western and Thai meals to keep fussy little people happy. The cafe staff will collect you from the hotel if you call ahead. If you’re having a night in and need to order room service the kids Bento box was a big hit with our 5 year old.

Feeding Namchok fruit everyday and watching him swim in the ocean were some of the highlights of our trip to Thailand.

If its within your price range and you are looking for somewhere quiet to pass a few days I’d thoroughly recommend the Angsana Laguna Phuket.
